Abstract : The reaction of trans-Cl(RNHN:)CC(:NNHR)Cl (R = Ph, 4-ClC6H4) with NaN3 afforded the corresponding diazides which, upon redn. with LiAlH4, gave the corresponding diamines. Cyclocondensation of the diamines with R1COCl (R1 = Ph, 4-XC6H4, 3-O2NC6H4, ClCH2; X = Me, Cl) gave the bi-1,2,4-triazoles I. I were alternatively prepd. by the reaction of the diazides with PPh3 to give phosphinimines, which were cyclocondensed with R1COCl.
