Abstract : At the end of each Hijrah year, hundreds of thousands of Muslims perform Haj to fulfill the fifth pillar of Islam. Among these Muslims are some elderly and handicapped. Although the total number of this group is not substantial, they must have special transport facilities because of their special needs and the difficulties they encounter. The purpose of this paper is to analyse and discuss some issues pertaining to elderly and handicapped. The source of data are field studies which were conducted during previous Haj seasons. The movement of pilgrims in the Mas'aa will be discussed at some detail. The paper concludes with several recommendations which are intended to improve the transport services that should be provided to this group of pilgrims.
