Abstract
:
Mobilization of heavy metals in the environment due to industrial activities is of serious concern due to the toxicity of these metals in humans and other forms of life. Among the toxic heavy metals, cadmium is in the limelight and considered as a carcinogenic. The present study will concern to isolate and identify fungi from soil and wastewater samples taken from different polluted locations at Yanbu city. Effect of different concentrations of cadmium and the efficiency of fungal biomasses to absorb cadmium will measure. Finally, more studies on pretreated biomass will carried out to determine the best conditions for higher efficiency to absorb cadmium.
