the objective of this study is to find a model that explains the most important determinants of competitiveness in the petrochemical industry in kingdom of Saudi Arabia , using times series date for the period from 1984 to 2010 having been research through the literature on determinants of competitiveness in the petrochemical industry in kingdom of Saudi Arabia model . we did not find econometric model explains the determinants of competitiveness in the petrochemical industry until now .which means that this study will be an important contribution in this area . to analyze the determinants of competitiveness in the petrochemical industry in kingdom of Saudi Arabia , a model was built that explains of competitiveness in the petrochemical industry using Cointegration and error correction model. The explanatory variable that are have a strong influence on competitiveness in the petrochemical industry: Industrial Development Fund loans for the petrochemical industry, natural gas prices the sold to the petrochemical, the membership for the Kingdom's in the World Trade Organization (WTO) , Saudi riyal exchange rate against a basket of foreign currencies . the dependent variable was the value of petrochemical exports . we analysis the time series properties of model , using several tests for determining the level of integration each time series, and then verify that the joint integration. The results were as follows: the existence of a long-term relationship between the petrochemical exports and between selected determinants, and to estimate the effects of determinants of short-term and long-term petrochemical exports, was used Engle Granger two steps method. And resulted in the petrochemical exports correcting impaired balance in each previous period, equivalent to 38.41% towards its equilibrium value, and speed of the correction takes about equilibrium value two years and six months. The petrochemi cal exports flexible for determinants in the short term and long term, and all signals agree parameters estimated in the long run with the assumptions of economic theory.
