Abstract : Grapes are the most important fruit crops and famous that are grown in Taif, which is characterized by fertile soil and suitable climatic of conditions cultivation and production. Four grapes varieties were cultivated and produced in Al-Taif ,they are Bayadi , Alraezki , Alnakkeli and Sawadi varieties .The Bayadi variety occupied the largest wear and produced most grape production while the other three varieties planted in small area and produced small yield . The importance of the study to shed light on the cultivation and production of grapes during the 10 years of 2005 up to 2015 in Taif, From a geographical perspective of deals with spatial and economic link for this type of fruit, this study contributes through its interest in statistical studies to facilitate the task of researchers and economists to identify the levels of production , the problems and obstacles that correspond to the cultivation and development of the production of the grape and how to reach self-sufficiency for this crop. This study aims to determine the economic efficiency and development trends pattern of graps cultivation in the governorate of Taif. And The results of the study did not record a noticeable change in the studied period but a slight increase production was record during this period, This is due to the use of fertilizers. and most of the farmers work for economic purposes and small percentage from farmers planting grapes in order to self-sufficiency. Through an interview target farmers category, extension workers and agronomists, A small area was planted grapes in order to selfsufficiency. This decreasing is attributed to the use of the traditional agriculture and non-agricultural practices as shown by this study, as well as increased competition for land use by other crops, And the existence of sources of attraction for residents of the villages in the cities, and the expansion of the city and urbanization at the farm account, and the lack of attention by the competent authorities in this crop and the climatic conditions contribute in sometimes to reducing the increased production of this crop, Such as snow and the lack of rain. Also the lack of irrigation water As contribution to significantly reduced in production rates.
